Tania completed the 13 Floor Geometric Abstract as part of City Walls, a project to make more public art and to also beautify buildings in Manhattan. Tania was the only woman in the group of artists, which included Frosty Myers (his “Gateway to SoHo” is in ArtWalk’s SoHo tour). Tania refused to call herself a muralist, and preferred to be a “wall painter.” Tania had a Ph.D. from Columbia University and also produced sculpture and collages. City Walls, founded in 1966, was funded by David Rockefeller, the Department of Cultural Affairs, and other private foundations. City Walls is now the Public Art Fund.
